The most efficient way to use photovoltaics is to use as much of the energy produced as possible directly in the home. However, most households consume energy in the morning and evening hours, and the highest production occurs during the day, which naturally generates surpluses to the electricity grid. A physical battery is a solution for storing the energy produced for the time of consumption, but it is expensive and has a long payback period. Therefore, it is optimal to use the energy during the day to heat domestic hot water.

ANTIK AC Water Heater

The Antik AC Water Heater device allows you to direct the flows from the photovoltaic inverter to
heating water in an electric boiler or storage tank, without the need for complex installation.

Features:

  • Redirecting surplus domestic inverter to an electric coil 0 – 3kW
  • Simple installation, just by plugging into a 230V socket and a boiler
  • Real-time communication with the photovoltaic power plant inverter

Other benefits and additional features

The device uses your current electric boiler for hot water heating, which is currently connected directly to the 230V network. Simplified connection of water heating with a photovoltaic inverter:

In addition to these basic advantages, the device has the following additional features:

  • Remote surveillance via WiFi network and Antik Smart Home app
  • Remote monitoring of water temperature in the boiler
  • Possibility of backup heating from the 230V network if the sun is not shining
  • Clear user interface

Komunitné zdieľanie energie

Menič ANTIK posiela do aplikácie ANTIK Smart Home údaje o akuálnom prebytku vašej fotovoltickej elektrárne.

Takto je možné presne v reálnom čase synchronizovať váš prebytok so spotrebov u partnera v skupine komunitného zdieľania.

Excess heating mode

In solar mode, the parameter Allow backup from the grid is set to NO, therefore all temperatures and times related to backup are ignored. The water will be heated only during the day and up to the temperature according to the parameter called “Photovoltaic” (or until interrupted by the boiler thermostat).

Description of individual points of the temperature curve:
1. After sunrise, the temperature in the boiler begins to rise.
2. When the water temperature reaches the desired value, heating is interrupted and the device switches to the secondary output.
3. If the water temperature drops by 5 degrees Celsius on the external sensor, the output switches back to the first coil.

Electric hot water heating represents up to 50% of household electricity costs
