Model situation: Did the customer save money after a year with photovoltaics?

Nowadays, ever-increasing energy costs and an emphasis on environmental protection are the main reasons why many households are opting for photovoltaic systems.

  • 1. Installation decision

    Mr. Novák from Veľká Ida near Košice was looking for a way to reduce his annual electricity costs, which amounted to approximately €1,280 with a consumption of around 8-9 MWh. He decided to take advantage of the benefits of solar energy and contacted us to propose a solution.

  • 2. System selection and installation

    Based on Mr. Novák's requirements, we designed the hybrid system ANTIK DOMÁCNOSŤ STRED with an output of 7.65 kWp. The system includes a 10 kW three-phase hybrid inverter and 18 full black panels with an output of 425 Wp. The total price of the system, including installation and after deducting the subsidy, was €4,607 (without subsidy: €8,632).

  • 3. First experiences and results

    After a year of using the photovoltaic system, Mr. Novák found that his system produced a total of 8.38 MWh of energy. This production was divided as follows:

    • 3.98 MWh was immediately consumed by the household.
    • 4.40 MWh sent to the grid into the Virtual Battery
    • 4.18 MWh was drawn from the Virtual Battery and the rest remained unused (surplus)
  • 4. Utilization of surplus energy

    Surpluses were used for water heating, pool heating, solar air conditioning and electric vehicle charging, or sent to a virtual battery for later use. In this way, all the energy produced was used to the maximum, contributing to further savings.

  • 5. Return on investment

    The return on the system was very favorable for Mr. Novák thanks to a state subsidy of €4,025. The current return on his investment figures are:

    • 5.5 years in the case of non-rising energy prices.
    • 4 years in case of rising energy prices.

    This will save Mr. Novák at least €980 on electricity bills annually.

  • 6. Benefits for the future

    Investing in a photovoltaic system is not just about immediate savings. For Mr. Novák, it also means long-term energy self-sufficiency and protection against rising energy prices. In addition, it contributes to reducing the carbon footprint, which has a positive impact on the environment. Mr. Novák is now less dependent on external energy suppliers and has more control over his electricity costs.

The calculation of the subsidy amount depends on 3 factors:

INSTALLATION LOCATION
Municipalities in locations with poor air quality are entitled to the highest level of subsidy.
INSTALLED SYSTEM SIZE
Maximum support is limited to photovoltaic systems up to 7 kW.
ELECTRICITY CONSUMPTION FOR THE LAST CALENDAR YEAR
For the maximum possible subsidy, your consumption must be more than 7,000 kW.
